Brentford came from a goal behind and secured a shocking 4-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League. The Bees gave an impressive performance against the defending European champions and are now 11 points clear of the relegation zone.

Kai Havertz once again lead the line for the Blues and was accompanied by Timo Werner, who replaced Christian Pulisic. Ruben Loftus-Cheek played in the midfield alongside N’Golo Kante. Hakim Ziyech deputized in the right wing-back position.
Chelsea played a high attacking line, and the average position of the starting XI shows that the Blues played in a four-at-the-back formation. Cesar Azpilicueta played as the right back. Ruben Loftus-Cheek played in the holding midfield role, allowing the five remaining players to attack Brentford’s goal.
Brentford played in their regular 3-5-2 formation. Former Spurs midfielder, Christian Eriksen, started in the midfield for the Bees.
The average position of the midfielders and strikers was inside the middle third. Christian Norgaard played as the defensive cover in front of Brentford’s defense.

The Bees also created a lot of threats from the wider sides. By looking at the map, we can observe that they tried to get inside the box from the left side and played a very wide line towards the right side.

Chelsea players failed to win most of their defensive duels. They won most of their duels in the middle third, with Cesar Azplilicueta and N’Golo Kante winning two each.
The Blues won five aerial duels each in the defensive and middle third. Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz won three duels each.
Antonio Rudiger won the highest number of loose ball duels for his side. Hakim Ziyech contested eight duels and only won two.
