Manchester City won their 12th consecutive match by completing a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the English Premier League. Kevin De Bruyne scored the only goal of the match against his former club.

Aymeric Laporte and John Stones formed a defensive partnership in the middle as Manchester City played in a 4-3-3 formation with Phil Foden leading his side.
The average position of the starting XI hints that Sterling played a high line from the right side. Kevin De Bruyne supported Jack Grealish towards the left, and Phil Foden dropped into the attacking midfielder position.
Romelu Lukaku led the attack for the visitors as Chelsea played in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Mason Mount was surprisingly left on the bench.
Thomas Tuchel made three changes and changed the team formation to back-four in the later stages of the match. Lukaku was supported by Werner, Mount and Hudson-Odoi.
Manchester City dominated the ball possession and overall attacking stats in the match. Chelsea played more of a counterattacking football and attempted four shots. Pep’s men created more positional attacks and attempted 11 shots in the match.
Goalscorer Kevin De Bruyne attempted four shots with an xG rate of 0.25. Raheem Sterling was a constant threat from the right and attempted 12 dribbles. Timo Werner came off the bench, and his one-shot created the highest expected goal rate in the match.
The home team attempted 11 shots, and seven were from inside the opposition’s 18-yard box. The goal was scored from outside the box and the overall shot accuracy rate of the team was 54.55%.
The European Champions only attempted four shots with a 25% shot accuracy rate. Half of the shots were attempted from inside the opposition’s penalty box.

Manchester City players won most of their defensive duels in the middle of the park. Bernardo Silva contented 13 duels for his side.
Aymeric Laporte contested six aerial duels and won five of them. His side won 11 duels in the middle third.
Bernardo Silva contested five loose ball duels. He won one duel, lost three, and his one duel ended in a neutral result.
Chelsea players won most of their defensive duels towards the left side. Mateo Kovacic contested 17 duels and lost eight duels.
Romelu Lukaku was poor in the air as the Belgian lost eight out of the nine aerial duels contested.
Marcos Alonso contested nine loose ball duels. He managed to win, lose and draw three duels each.
Manchester City have an 11 points lead over the second-place team and are nearing back-to-back titles. Chelsea is winless in their last three Premier League games.
